Do you have an emergency standby generator – or any other other diesel engine rated over 50 bhp ?

Note: If you have a residential generator, please see this page or if you have an agricultural (AG) engine, click here.

If so, you need to apply for a permit for the generator engine/s. The deadline has passed, so please send us your permit application as soon as possible.

Also, if you are planning on installing a new generator engine (or any other other diesel engine rated over 50 bhp), then you must have a permit to construct before the new engine can be installed.

To get a permit, submit forms and fees listed here. For help with this, contact the Engineering Division at [email protected] or (805) 979-8050 .
