The Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District is providing grant funds to benefit public health by cost-effectively replacing old, high-polluting equipment with newer, cleaner equipment earlier than required by regulation or through normal attrition.
The grant funds come from the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Carl Moyer Program, Community Air Protection Program, Funding Agricultural Replacement Measures for Emission Reductions (FARMER) Program, Climate Heat Impact Response Program (CHIRP), California Department of Motor Vehicles surcharge revenue, and the District’s Clean Air Fund.
These grant programs generally follow CARB’s most recent Carl Moyer Program Guidelines (opens in a new tab), Community Air Protection Incentives Guidelines (opens in a new tab), FARMER Guidelines (opens in a new tab), Lower-Emission School Bus Program Guidelines (opens in a new tab), or other CARB guidelines. All funded projects in the currently available project categories must comply with the requirements found within the guidelines for the specific program, including cost-effectiveness thresholds.
